What Vimshottari actually is
Classical Jyotish assigns each planet a fixed span in a 120-year cycle. Your starting dasha is set from the Moon’s Nakshatra at birth. That is why birth time matters: a wrong Moon degree can shift the whole clock.
Swami calculates this with Swiss Ephemeris and Lahiri ayanamsa — the same stack as the free Dasha calculator, written out as climate rather than a raw table.
